How we calculate
The monthly payment is an annuity: Payment = L × r / (1 − (1 + r)^−n), with L the loan, r the monthly rate and n the number of months. A monthly fee is added on top.
APR is calculated by the EU consumer credit formula: the yearly rate X at which the money you actually receive (loan minus upfront fees) equals the present value of all payments and monthly fees, each discounted by (1 + X)^(t), where t is the time in years.
Lenders can include other costs (insurance, account fees). The APR here covers the fees you enter.

Questions
- Why is the APR higher than the interest rate?
- Because it includes fees and the effect of paying monthly. Two loans with the same rate can have very different APRs.
- Which offer is cheapest?
- The one with the lowest total amount paid for the same loan and term. With different terms, compare the APR.
- Is the APR here the same as in my contract?
- It should be close if you enter the same fees. The contract figure is binding — differences come from costs not entered here or rounding.
