How it works
Slat length is the clear width minus 36 mm for the SAM KIT bodies on both sides. Slats are bought in the next stock length: 0.5, 1, 1.2, 1.5, 2, 2.5 or 3 m.
Slats sit at a 95 mm pitch. The stack fills the clear height minus 25 mm of clearance; a part slat of at least 0.2 counts as a whole one.
One SAM KIT pair covers 475 mm of height, so the pairs are the clear height divided by 475 mm, rounded up.
Wooden slats can be up to 1.5 m long and aluminium slats up to 3 m. A wider opening is split into equal sections and the totals include every section.
What the calculator assumes
- SAM KIT takes slats 19–20 mm thick and 99–100 mm wide; the slats rotate together from 0 to 140°.
- The sizes are the clear space between your own posts, walls or frame — the construction itself is not part of the calculation.
- These are quantities for planning — the e-shop shows exact prices and availability.
Questions
- How many SAM KIT pairs do I need?
- One pair for every started 475 mm of clear height in each section. For about 2.2 m of height that is 5 pairs.
- Can I use my own slats?
- Yes, if they are 19–20 mm thick and 99–100 mm wide. Wooden slats should be from stable softwood.
